"Be the Church"

Church Update 04/10/23

by Mark L. Holz on April 10, 2023

Dear Church Family,

What a wonderful service yesterday!  Thank you to all who attended and thanks to the men who stepped up to deliver the scripture readings (Kevin Gause, Mike Avecilla and Dave Kaja), it added a lot to the day.  We hope to do more of that in the future, so if you are interested in serving in this way, please let me know.

Passing of Dave Montini
I am sorry to deliver the news that Dave, a long time LTBC member went to be with his Lord and Savior and dearly missed wife Mary early Sunday morning after a lengthy illness.  Dave was loved and admired by many and will certainly be missed.  But we can find comfort in the wonderful example he was and that he is now in the comforting arms of Jesus
We will pass along any information on services as we learn of it.

Church Attendance
You may have noticed there were a couple more rows in the sanctuary yesterday.  We started taking attendance five weeks ago and noticed the numbers have been increasing.  That, along with Resurrection Sunday, which is always well attended, we felt the additional seats would be needed.  And yes, they were!
Attendance results for the last five weeks are as follows;
March 12th - 49
March 19th - 62
March 26th - 59
April 2nd - 69
April 9th - 110 (Easter Sunday)
We're going to leave the seats in place "and see what God brings" in the future.

Children's Ministries
We have had two and three children in attendance the last two weeks respectively and were able to accommodate them, allowing their parents to enjoy the service thanks to Carol Pizio and Darlene Grant.
To address this, we now have nine volunteers (and always looking for more!) to start an "official" Children's program each Sunday.  Our plan is to have enough volunteers to rotate in and out each week to allow everyone to avoid missing church too often.
Our first organizational meeting will be this coming Sunday, April 16th at 11:00am in the southeast classroom.  The agenda will include;

  • Introduction and orientation of standard best practices.
  • A short presentation by Jimmy Valencia about required background checks for anyone working with children.
  • A review of the current curriculum we have as well as discussion on what we might do going forward.

All are welcome!  Being involved in creating the next generation of disciples is a true blessing!

Pastoral Search Committee
Our Pastoral Search Committee will be holding it's first meeting next Tuesday, April 18th.  We will keep you updated on their progress.  Please pray for:

  • The committee and search process.
  • Our future Pastor and his family.  God already knows who it is and will apply the prayers appropriately  ;-)

Upcoming events this week:
Tuesday, April 11th - 9:00am CBS Bible Study (Revelation)
Tuesday, April 11th - 6:00pm - All Church Prayer Meeting

Have a blessed week!
