Church Update 02/20/23
by Mark L. Holz on February 20, 2023Dear Church Family,
I'm writing this from Desert Hot Springs where Kathy and I are taking a couple of weeks with our dog Maximus to get some warmer weather. You are all in our prayers for the upcoming storms later this week.
In yesterday's Sunday service update, I covered three questions we have received. I encourage you to visit our website at "www.ltbchurch.com" to hear yesterday's service where this is all explained in detail.
1. What is going to happen with the church?
As He always has, God will determine the future of this church as He has for the last 31 years. If you are under the impression it was dependent on Pastor Ted, he would be the first one to tell you it was God, not him, who led the church this last 31 years.
So let's honor that, keep this assembly in your prayers, and see with hopeful anticipation what God is going to reveal to us! Based from what I've seen personally, this church is positioned to be a blessing to this community for many years to come, God willing.
2. Is Pastor Toby going to be our new pastor?
The short answer is "No".
Pastor Toby and his wife Belle love this church and are excited to join you as a part of this assembly as their home church. God has blessed Pastor Toby with an extraordinary talent for teaching the Word of God and he is being obedient to our Lord and Savior by using the talents he has been blessed with to deliver sermons each Sunday and leadership each Tuesday during our weekly Prayer Meetings at the church at 6pm. Be thankful for that and please pray for Toby and Belle as they follow the Lord's direction in this ministry to deliver the Word of God each Sunday.
Also, pray for developing a search committee (already being assembled) to take the journey in identifying a new pastor for our church. If you have interest in being a part of that effort, please reach out to me at mkholz@sbcglobal.net.
3. What is Dede's future with the church?
God has blessed us with a godly woman who, with Pastor Ted, has guided this church for the last 31 years. Dede has expressed a desire to continue with the current ministries she has covered these many years. We are honoring that wish by bringing support alongside with her to cover IN CONCERT WITH YOU the many areas she and Pastor Ted have handled in all the areas by bringing in many of you to work with her in concert to develop procedures that insure the church will operate in an appropriate manner for many years taking advantage of her history, experience and knowledge of the church as we take the next steps into the future.
We are thankful for so many (38 and counting!) of you who have stepped forward to provide a smooth transition to the next step for our church!
Looking to the future......
-As your Church Administrator I will strive to provide you with timely communications on updates to our assembly. Please do not hesitate to reach out to me with any questions or concerns you may have at "mkholz@sbcglobal.net". I welcome hearing from you!
-We will be scheduling periodic "all church" meetings in the future for the entire church to communicate updates on church financials, current information, and updates on the search for a new pastor. This is a necessary communicational process that a healthy assembly has on a regular basis.
One last note, Pastor Ted's vision for our church radio ministries included a talk show which became "Sundays at the Lake - Bible Q&A" that launched in February 2020 which I was honored to be his co-host on. Over 100 episodes later, we are winding down this ministry with the last broadcast taking place on February 26th at 8:30am on KVML AM 1280. This episode, which includes a tribute to Pastor Ted, is a re-broadcast of our original show from February 2020 where the first question was "What is the Bible?" and includes some great insights about Pastor Ted's ministries and the 31 years he led Lake Tulloch Bible Church. This episode will be archived along with all the others on our website at "ltbchurch.com", "Media Library". You will be blessed by this, and I encourage you to listen to it after February 26th!
As I said Sunday, thank you so much for being such a great church family! Kathy and I can't wait to join with you again in worshiping our Lord and Savior on Sunday, March 5th.
In His Service with You,
Mark L. Holz
Church Administrator
