"Be the Church"

Church Update 01/30/23

by Mark Holz on January 30, 2023

Dear Church Family,

I want to reiterate what I said during the announcements in yesterday's service about my thankfulness for all of you who have stepped forward to ask where you can serve in the church.  It is truly amazing what God is doing with all of this.  Together we can glorify Him by our actions and involvement in His church by serving Him through it.  You are honoring Pastor Ted's observance that "God will bring what we need" and it's amazing seeing that come to pass.

Tuesday Night Prayer Meetings continue to be an important part of the church ministry and we encourage everyone who is able to come and share in this special time at 6:00pm each Tuesday as Pastor Toby leads us through a short scripture and a concert of prayer.

Giving statements for the 2022 tax year were sent out via email last Thursday.  If you believe you should have received it by email and did not, please respond to this email and let me know.  If I know in advance, I can have a hard copy available for you next Sunday.  For those we do not have an email for, we will be sending a hard copy to your physical US Mail address this week.

As previously announced, a "Celebration of Life" for Pastor Ted has been scheduled for this Saturday, February 4th at 11:00am at the church.  Pastor Jedidiah Smith will be presiding over the service for his dear friend and it is sure to be a wonderful time of remembrance of our beloved Pastor Ted.
We have made arrangements, through the efforts of several men in the church, to maximize the capacity of our sanctuary as we are expecting a large crowd and we recommend you arrive early to secure a seat.    Suggested attire is "Aloha wear" in honor of Pastor Ted's trademark Hawaiian shirts that he wore each Sunday.  What a wonderful way to provide a visual tribute to our Pastor!
A number of ladies in our church are preparing a luncheon reception immediately after the service and, like yesterday, a collection box will be available in the sanctuary for those that would like to contribute to offset the cost of the food.  If we are blessed with a surplus, any excess proceeds will go to Dede and the family.  If you are so inclined to make a "Love Offering" to Dede directly, those can be made any time by simply putting your check or cash in an envelope and writing "Love Offering for Dede" on the outside of the envelope.  There is also a link on the LTBC webpage to make donations that way as well.

We plan to record the "Celebration of Life" which will then be posted on the website for those that are unable to attend in person.

Have a blessed week!

In His Service with You,
Mark
