Grief Support Group
by DeDe Mustill RN | January 21, 2016Hello Readers,
This weeks blog is to introduce GriefShare Support Group Ministry. As the name suggests, this is a group that was formed to provide a place for help and encouragement after the death of a spouse, child, family member, or friend. Often, friends and family want to help you, but don't know how. That's the reason for GriefShare. The group is led by caring people who have experienced grief and have successfully rebuilt their lives. Here's what you can expect as a member of the group:
The group meets weekly for 13 weekly sessions.
Video seminars are held each week offering encouraging, information-packed videos featuring leading grief recovery experts.
There is a small group discussion about the weekly video content.
A workbook is encouraged for journaling and personal study exercises that reinforce the weekly session topics.
GriefShare is a national Christian ministry. The message is non-denonimational, Biblical and straightforward: Our strength, encouragement and assurance is in Jesus Christ our Lord. The seminar support groups are currently being offered on Mon./Tues. evenings 6:30-8:30pm and on Thursdays 4:00-6:00pm. For locations, contact Rick Bonde (209)404-3172 or John Morton (209)586-3940. Or you may pick up a flyer at my health ministry desk. You may also visit their website at www.griefshare.org for additional information on seminar topics
There is a $20.00 registration fee for workbook/materials and scholarships are available.
